1994 retro shooter The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki gets a Fancy Edition re-release out now
A blast from the past, although not too well-known. Originally from Maelstrom Software and Future Visionary, The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki – Fancy Edition is a fresh upgraded re-release of the 1994 game from ZOOM Platform Media that’s out now on ZOOM Platform and Steam.
The ZOOM Platform team emailed in to note “We made sure to give extra care for Linux and Deck” for this one.
New in this re-release:
- THERE IS NOW STRAFING.
- Non-nausea inducing mouselook
- You no longer need to hold down the left mouse button to move the camera.
- Yes. Really.
- Switch weapons using the scrollwheel, with a cool new radial weapon wheel: the Radialki
- Fully rebindable controls and options in a brand new custom launcher
- Presets for both original and modernized control schemes.
- Left mouse is actually Fire now. And WASD are used for movement. Groundbreaking stuff.
- Toggle the new features on and off on a whim, if you want that original experience for some reason.
- Native support for the most common controllers
- Fully compatible with the DK Bongos.
- 3 hand drawn pillarboxes to choose from, for more style points.
- Togglable sprinting.
- More reasonable default settings, for improved graphical fidelity and gameplay.
- Native Linux build, fully playable on Steam Deck!
- Save scum across devices with the power of Steam Cloud.
