2023 PS5 Multiplayer Action Game Shutting Down Already

A 2023 PS5 multiplayer action game is shutting down for good, its developer has announced. Toylogic, the studio behind Square Enix flop Foamstars, is ending service for its 100-player live service game, Warlander.

Warlander servers will be shut down on January 20, 2026. Starting today, players will no longer be able to purchase in-game currency called Goldings. However, Warlander will remain available to play and download until January, and any Goldings players own will be usable until then.
Toylogic has said that it will not be providing any refunds for microtransactions. “We plan to continue the Weekend Campaign and 2-Army Great War events until the end of service,” the studio announced.
Toylogic plans to reboot Warlander and says its development is going well. However, the studio hasn’t yet confirmed whether the reboot will release on consoles or not.
Speaking specifically about Warlander’s PS5 version, the game comes with 14 trophies. Although there’s no Platinum trophy, if you care about game completion, then now is a good time to wrap things up.
PS Plus members can claim free Warlander add-ons from the PS Store, which contain items like various boosters. It might be a good idea to pick them up to aid you in your trophy hunt.
Warlander itself is free-to-play, and doesn’t require a PS Plus membership.
