FromSoftware’s latest Elden Ring Nightreign overview revealed a tonne of new information regarding the upcoming Soulslike game. Alongside random meteor storms and other in-world events, players can actually dress up as their favourite characters from Dark Souls in the form of new skins.
While the game still restricts multiplayer to its three-player setup instead of offering a duos experience, at least players can now jump around in sick dress up.
Elden Ring Nightreign lets you play Dark Souls dress-up
In the recent overview trailer, FromSoftware revealed that there are a number of Dark Souls skins for players to unlock and wear as they traipze around the game’s hectic, enemy-filled environments.
In the trailer, just a few skins were shown. Players with an affinity for the first game can dress up Solaire and Praise the Sun to their heart’s content. Additionally, players can also dress up as Leonhard, the Bloodborne Hunter-looking NPC from Dark Souls 3.
With combat styles inspired by Sekiro, Dark Souls and, of course, Elden Ring, Nightreign is shaping up to be the ultimate celebration of FromSoft’s last decade and a half of releases. In fact, it almost feels like a greatest hits collection.
After the release of Nightreign, FromSoftware has planned a healthy post-launch period of new content. While the game already features a tonne of returning enemies from the Dark Souls series, even more are set to arrive.
While Elden Ring Nightreign and the studio’s upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods has given players worry that their single-player days are over, that’s not the case. FromSoftware has promised that more single-player games are in the works and multiplayer only games will not be the studio’s only future.
Nevertheless, multiplayer has always been a major component of the Soulsborne series, even if its not the focus. In fact, it’s very exciting to see just how well Nightreign shapes up when it’s only focused a co-op experience.
