Proton Experimental for Linux / Steam Deck gets fixes for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Space Engineers and more

Valve released another update to Proton Experimental, bringing in fixes for a number of games that were having issues on Linux Desktop / Steam Deck. This follows on from the recent Proton Experimental update that upgraded it to use the recently released Proton 10 Beta.
Here’s the latest additions and changes for the May 8th update:
- Fixed THE FINALS freezing after a few minutes of gameplay after a recent game update. (previously in Proton Hotfix)
- Fixed Xalia not being able to fully progress through prerequesite installation in MultiVersus using only the controller.
- Fixed Space Engineers crashing on a steam deck after changing controller setting with a fresh Proton prefix.
- Fixed screen darkening in e-Racer.
- Fixed gamepads randomly stopping working on some setups.
- Enabled Xalia for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 so the prerequisite installation can be completed using controllers.
- Fixed Proton 10 regressions:
- Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD setting launcher renders correctly again.

It will show up in your Steam Downloads just as an update for Proton Experimental, if you have it installed. Otherwise, you can just search for Proton Experimental in your Steam Library to install it. Then you can individually change the Proton version used for games.
