What are the Best Mods for Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most immersive and robust RPGs, offering players hours’ worth of content you can replay time and time again. Depending on which path you take, it’s more than likely you still haven’t discovered every secret, dialogue, etc. in the game. But even with all the content, there are still incredible gameplay mods that only serve to elevate BG3 even more.

Best Boy
Protect Scratch at All Times
Who doesn’t want the
best boy in all the lands
at their side? Well, no matter how adorable Scratch is, he isn’t that hearty. Any little thing typically takes him out, so if you want him to stand a chance in any battle, the Best Boy mod is needed.
It enhances his HP and improves his other stats, like movement, so that he both survives and thrives in battle. Or, if you want to go all out, you can even make him invincible, then you’ll never have to worry about him again.
9
Carry Weight Increased
Hoard Everything in Sight
Are you a loot goblin? It’s hard to play an RPG like BG3 and not hoard loot, but low-strength characters don’t always get by with a lot of items without being weighed down. So, let’s get rid of that struggle with the Carry Weight Increased mod.
You can adjust your inventory limits as you play, tweaking it in small increments or as major as up to 9,000x. Now, loot goblins never have to choose between slowing their character down and opening just one more chest.
8
Highlight Everything
Never Miss Loot Again
What’s a loot goblin without loot to take? Highlight Everything is a great mod that will ensure you miss nothing in Baldur’s Gate 3. The vanilla highlight system is wonderful as-is, but this mod takes things a step further so you won’t bypass any important (or unimportant) loot.

If you’ve ever wanted more precise control over how the character moves in Baldur’s Gate 3, the WASD Character Movement mod is designed for you. As the name suggests, the mod allows you to move around with the WASD keys, offering a true third-person POV.
It transitions to the traditional controls when getting into combat and back to the third-person when the combat’s over. Not only is it great for changing the perspective of the game, but it makes sneaking around much smoother.
6
Party Limit Begone
Bring All Your Friends
BG3 boasts a remarkable cast of characters, so it’s no surprise that choosing who to bring can be a tough task. So, why not bring as many as you can? The Party Limit Begone mod removes party limitations in Baldur’s Gate 3 so you can enjoy anyone you want.

Allies are important!
In single-player campaign, you can increase it to 16 party members. It can go up to 8 in multiplayer. If you ever wanted to bring the entire main cast along for the ride, now you can. Just look out for cutscenes hardcoded for the traditional 4-person party size.
5
Hide Weapons in Cutscenes
Nothing Can Ruin the Moment
Speaking of cutscenes, have you noticed how awkward they can look
depending on the weapons
you and your party have? Some weapons, no matter how great they are in combat, can look silly when the cutscene hits. Let’s do away with them with the Hide Weapons in Cutscenes mod.
Typically, the mod can remove vanilla weapons and most modded weapons. Now, you can freely enjoy any cutscene without a giant staff or bow getting in the way.
4
Unlock Level Curve
Become as Powerful as Possible
Don’t let the level cap get in the way of an epic campaign. Unlock Level Curve is one of the best gameplay mods to make an unstoppable character in Baldur’s Gate 3. It moves the level cap to Level 20, making it more similar to D&D 5th edition.
It’s a fun way to test out new and stronger builds, especially since this works well with multiclassing to align more with the 5th edition D&D rules. For instance, make your Level 15 Rogue an absolute beast by also being a Level 5 Barbarian.
3
Stronger Bosses and Enemies
Buff Enemies and Bosses
Why stop at making yourself stronger when you can make bosses and enemies even more powerful? For those who love a challenge, the Stronger Bosses and Enemies is the perfect go-to gameplay mod. There are several adjustments to enemies and some bosses like more HP, more attacks, and even greater resistances.
Now you don’t have to just rely on increasing the game difficulty to give yourself a better challenge. This mod forces you to adapt your fighting style and rely on more strategic moves to keep you and your party alive.
2
5e Spells
Bring More of D&D to Life
Getting closer to the Dungeons and Dragons roots, the 5e Spells mod widens your selection of spells. Along with cantrips, the mod includes 1st to 9th level unimplemented spells. It’s one of the best ways to further customize your gameplay and builds.
This also works alongside several other mods like the Unlock Level Curve. If you’ve played D&D, you’ll find more familiarity with the tabletop spells once you access the dozens of cool spells and cantrips from Spare the Dying to Dominate Monster.

Are you eager to
level up
as fast as possible? Then download the Fast XP BG3 mod. For new characters, you’ll reach Level 6 before you know it. It can make the Prologue and Act 1 zoom by, which is especially helpful for repeat playthroughs.
But if you want to create a god-tier character as early as possible, select the option to have double the XP for the entire game. Leveling up is twice as fast, and you’ll cap out sooner than usual, giving you the strength to take on anyone at any time.
