gives players a lot more room to explore than past entries, and with that extra room comes a lot of secrets and collectibles to uncover.

The first level of the game, Village of Khalim, has a smaller number of secrets to find than in other levels, with only six secrets and five collectibles to track down across the map.

Secret Locations

Life Sigil #1

The first secret in the Village of Khalim is the first Life Sigil, which grants an extra life.

Immediately after completing the melee combo tutorial, you’ll enter a burning room with a few enemies and a climbing wall to scale. Instead of climbing up the wall, turn left and look for the wooden planks with a blue symbol covering a gap in the wall.

Shield Bash through the planks (it should lock on when you raise your shield), and you’ll enter a secret area, with a Life Sigil standing by the gate to your left.

Imp Toy

The Imp Toy is locked behind a gate with a blue lock, requiring you to progress through the level until you’ve gotten the blue key near the Cultists, and then head up the path to the gate again after returning to the main courtyard. Approaching the gate will automatically open it.

Life Sigil #2

Enter the cave near the Shredder weapon payload to activate a secret encounter, locking you in a room full of fodder enemies. Defeat all the enemies to unlock the doors to either side of the cave, as well as a third door in the middle of the passage with a Life Sigil waiting behind it.

Soldier Toy

Go to the cliff behind the Shredder weapon payload and look down off the far right edge. Drop down onto the secret pathway, which leads to a room containing the Soldier Toy.

Weapon Skin: Combat Shotgun – Nightmare

In the courtyard with the Shredder wepaon payload, face the Life Sigil cave entrance and turn left. Go straight forward to the cliff, and look down and to the right to see a large opening in the side of the cliff.

Get a running start and Sprint Jump across the gap to the room, which will spawn enemies that you must defeat. Once the room is cleared, you’ll be able to grab the “Nightmare” weapon skin for the Combat Shotgun.

Life Sigil #3

The third and final Life Sigil is behind a gate with a purple lock. To obtain the purple key, you’ll need to head up the path to the right of the Shredder weapon payload, then bear a right on the fork in the road past the encounter.

Head back to the courtyard outside of the castle gate to find the purple lock in the side of a small mountain in the center of the area.

Codex Locations

Codex #1: Doom Slayer

Head down the path to the right of the mountain with the purple door and look right to see a bridge leading to a special enemy in front of a small cliff. Defeat the enemy, then head around the right side of the cliff to find a climbing wall.

Climb the wall and follow the path up to reach the edge of the cliff, where the Codex entry for the Doom Slayer will be sitting.

Codex #2: Village of Khalim

The Second Codex entry can be found right before the Sentry Turret sequence at the end of the level. While heading along the path following the battlefield of enemies, round the corner and look behind you to see a climbing wall, which leads to a small area with some soldiers and the Village of Khalim codex near some ammo.
