Augur Boss Guide in Elden Ring Nightreign

If there’s one thing Elden Ring Nightreign does best is have variety in their games. While you’ll be doing the same old maps over and over again, the bosses themselves have drastically different styles and movesets that make them the highlight of the experience. For Maris, Fathom of Night, he is distinctly different from the rest of the bosses due to its verticality. While most are bosses that are generally on two or more feet, Maris is a ghostly being that floats well above the ground and can avoid most of what you have to offer. Thankfully, we have a guide to help you take him down to your level.

Strategy
Augur is one of the more elusive bosses in Elden Ring Niightreign, not because of its speed, but its mobility. Augur, similar to the Sentient Pest, is airborne, making it very difficult for melee characters such as Guardian and Wylder. Characters like Recluse, Iron Eye, Revenant and even Duchess are the most useful classes in this expedition, although the last two classes will require you to obtain casting ability from a Seal or Wand. Due to their high Faith and Intelligent scaling, they have a high potential to take advantage of these types of weapons.
Outside of focusing on ranged characters, the next best thing you will need to do is have a good roll or block. Ideally, roll would be best because one of Augur’s moves can easily be taken advantage of. We’re, of course, talking about when Maris spits a wave of water towards a player. The water itself does a decent amount of damage, so you’d want to avoid it to begin with, but rolling into the water will not only allow you to iframe through, but get the jump on Maris, especially if you’re a melee class.
One of the more annoying aspects of Maris is his adds. While most mobs of enemies are generally something to keep track of and tend to almost immediately, in Augur, they are stationary beings that, if you get too close to them, will slap you across the face, almost literally. Because of this, you really don’t have to worry about them. You might need to keep track of your surroundings a bit, or even more to an area with fewer adds on the field, but for the most part, it’s very easy to completely forget about them as they will rarely cause trouble. If Maris does end up in a location with a lot of adds, simply target them (hopefully with a ranged class) and chip them down as they don’t have too much health.
The biggest mechanic you can expect from Maris is his sleep. Maris will turn upside down and go into a cradle position as if it’s going to bed. You will quickly notice that your sleep meter will go up drastically, and in the end will put you to sleep, all while dealing a great amount of damage to you. It likely won’t kill you unless you’re already low on HP. With that said, the only way to ensure to avoid lullaby is stun the boss or do a specific amount of damage. The best way to do this is to save an ultimate attack as most will break the effect.
The second phase, like most of the bosses in Nightreign, happens around the 50% mark. Maris will essentially grow bigger, featuring more tendrils similar to what jellyfish have. It will produce far more jellyfish to come at you, making it a little harder to move around, although it in itself isn’t too difficult because you just need to shuffle to the left or right after noticing them nearby. Maris will also add an additional dash after the first, coming in for a follow-up if you were able to doge the first.
Maris will also drop a bomb from the sky from time to time, usually coming in a duo. The only way to handle this is to either run as far away as possible, and considering Maris will leave the bomb, you can simply follow it, or destroy it by the time it hits the ground.
