Something for the Weekend – 28/06/25
I hope you’re all ready for another hot weekend. Thankfully it’s starting off pretty nice and cool, but the Sun’s just about to start doing its thing and get the UK roasting. Not a weekend to be playing VR games, that’s for sure… Maybe go for a nice walk in Death Stranding 2?
In the News This Week
Plenty of news to catch up on this week, so let’s have a look at the headlines:
Games in Review & Featured Articles
There was a good batch of reviews, and one in particular
- Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 – PS5, XSX|S, PS4, XBO, NSW, PC – 9/10
- Death Stranding 2: On The Beach – PS5 – 8/10
- Ruffy and the Riverside – PS5, XSX|S, XBO, NSW, PC – 7/10
- Date Everything – PS5, XSX|S, NSW, PC – 7/10
- Atomfall: Wicked Isle DLC – PS5, XSX|S, PS4, XBO, PC – 5/10
And we dished out a handful of hardware reviews too.
We also got to dish out a bunch of other features and previews, though. Let’s start with Ade’s twinned Playing With History features, first delving into Atomfall, and then into Sniper Elite.
Dom then dipped into the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake, and found it a fantastic look at the series’ past and future, while I previewed the UGC dungeon romp of King of Meat, the addictive Tower-Survivor of Monsters are Coming!, and got to go hands on with Pragmata’s minigame hacker shooting – way better than that might sound!
I also gave a good look at a bunch of the free Switch 2 updates that Nintendo released, which have worked wonders for some key games.
And rounding out the week, What We Played featured my hands on with Pragmata, some Date Everything and Death Stranding 2

- TSBonyman played “more Tainted Grail, 10 hours into Act 2 and still getting on great with it.”
- And Andrewww got in some more Death Stranding via PS Plus. “What I don’t quite get just yet is that you have a bike, but the paths for some missions just seem impossible to drive, as the terrain seems too rocky to get through (getting to the port for the first time). And walking all that distance seems rather a drag. So, I’m still very early on, figuring out how to get around.”
That’s the round up for this week’s round up, but I hope you have a great time, whether you’re watching fast cars, hiding from the sun, basking in it or whatever you have planned.
