Are Ya Ready, Kids? SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off Serves Up Today on PS5, PS4

SpongeBob fans, rejoice — one of the character’s games has suddenly arrived on PS5 and PS4.

A port of SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off is now available for Sony’s consoles, releasing unceremoniously on 2nd July 2025.

So, what is this? Well, here’s the extremely brief launch trailer for the Nintendo Switch version:

Essentially, SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off looks like a Bikini Bottom spin on Cook, Serve, Delicious. You prepare a variety of food items — including Krabby Patties of course — as the orders come flying in.

As you progress through the game, you’ll visit different locations from the show, unlock new recipes, decorate venues, acquire new outfits, and upgrade equipment. As the official blurb puts it:

Create your own Bikini Bottom kitchen, decorate and customize your restaurant, and get ready to serve up delicious food to your guests! In this fast-food cooking game, put your time management skills to the test and experience the crazy cooking action of the SpongeBob universe. Fire up the grill and get ready to cook!

Interestingly, this is a redesigned rendition of what was once a mobile game. The mobile version was free-to-play and laced with microtransactions, but all of that has been scrubbed from the console version, with all content unlockable through progression.

While no microtransactions makes this a more palatable proposition, the trade-off is it isn’t free; the PlayStation versions will set you back $14.99/£11.99.
