NBA 2K26 Announced, Launches on September 5th

2K has finally announced the next iteration in Visual Concepts’ long-running NBA 2K series – NBA 2K26. As is tradition, the first trailer offers no gameplay whatsoever. At least the voiceover, courtesy of legendary director Spike Lee, lends some dramatic air to it.
Fortunately, there are more details on the official website. NBA 2K26 launches on September 5th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Those who purchase the Leave No Doubt Edition can start playing on August 29th. Standard Edition owners on PlayStation and Xbox will receive Dual Entitlement, which provides a current and previous-gen copy of the game.
However, while cross-gen progression is available within the same console family, cross-play is only available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Only those platforms and PC players can access the Gen 9 version, so forget about the latest features if you’re on Nintendo Switch 2. Stay tuned for more details on improvements this year, including for MyCareer, MyTeam, The W and more.
