Update: Hours after GTA 4 was found listed for PS4 and Xbox Series X/S, Rockstar Support has now removed the options with only Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC listed.  Rockstar Support has also removed the “Online migration” option that hinted at the leaked Red Dead Redemption 2 current-gen versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

It’s unknown if Rockstar accidentally leaked the GTA 4 port as well as the RDR2 upgrade, but right now both suggestions have been removed from Rockstar Support in wake of being noticed online. Remember that neither the GTA 4 port nor Red Dead Redemption 2’s PS5, Xbox Series X/S upgrade are official as they are only leaks as of writing.

Below is a screenshot showing GTA 4 listed for PS4 and Xbox Series X/S on Rockstar Support at 1PM BST on July 11th, before these platforms were removed by at least 4PM BST:

Original story:

Obviously, everyone in the world is waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. It’s arguably the most anticipated game of all time, but it unfortunately got delayed to next year. While this is unfortunate for everyone eager to take a vacation to Vice City, it’s possible Rockstar have plans to keep us busy until May next year arrives. There have been leaks about a current-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2, and there have also been leaks of a port for GTA 4. While neither of these are official as of writing, speculation about a GTA 4 port continues beyond leaks as Rockstar Support has the game listed for current-gen consoles.

GTA 4 port speculation continues thanks to Rockstar Support

On X, user solidnazmija12 has just noticed that GTA 4 is listed on Rockstar Support for PS4. Going onto the website, the list of platforms for the game also include Xbox Series X/S. There’s no mention of PS5 alongside Microsoft’s current-gen counterpart, but PS4 is interesting enough on its own as GTA 4 isn’t available on either platform as it only came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 for consoles.

While the above could possibly be put down to a simple error, what’s additionally interesting is that none of the other Grand Theft Auto games have inaccurate PlayStation and Xbox platforms listed, and it’s the same for Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, as well as Max Payne 3. While RDR2 is rumored to be receiving current-gen upgrades later this year, Rockstar Support only lists it for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, rather than PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Leaks about a GTA 4 port date back to May courtesy of often reliable GTA leaker, Tez2. The leaker claimed, “Someone at R* hinted at the IV port, and by now it should’ve gone up a year in development. We may end up seeing it drop later this year”. The leaker also added that the port’s supposed existence is why the “LCPP mod was taken down”.

In addition to just Grand Theft Auto’s numerical fourth installment, Tez2 claimed Rockstar want to do a Max Payne 3 port after GTA 4 as this would be an “opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive edition” with the remakes for Max Payne 1&2 currently in-development at Remedy.

Remember that nothing is official as of writing. Tez2 accurately leaked remasters for GTA 1-3, but there’s no official word on a port for GTA 4 yet. It would be fantastic if true as a lot of people hail Grand Theft Auto 4 as the best installment in the series. Yes, there’s a lot of debates and strong feelings about how driving feels in the game, but many recognise Niko as Grand Theft Auto’s best protagonist along with his story.

In other Grand Theft Auto news, a GTA 6 Online leak is supported by an exciting patent from Take-Two Interactive, and an Easter Egg seemingly teases the inclusion of Travis Scott.
