PS Stars Program Marks Its Eventual Shut Down with One Last Collectible

The eventual shutdown of the PS Stars program was confirmed back in May, when Sony said that it would “refocus” its efforts after learning “a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to”. PS Stars shuts down completely on 2nd November 2026, but more imminently, no more collectibles, points, or level-ups can be earned from 23rd July 2025.
Its biggest benefit was the ability to trade in points for PS Store credit, allowing you to get discounts on PS5, PS4 games. However, the service’s implementation was always flawed. It was restricted to the PlayStation smartphone app and has never been available natively on PS5, PS4 systems.
