Donkey Kong Bananza Swings to #1 in UK Sales Charts
Donkey Kong Bananza is now the top banana, taking the number one spot from Mario Kart World in the UK games sales charts. Nintendo currently has the top two placements with Hogwarts Legacy still selling well in third place. A new rugby game, published by Nacon, has also entered the chart at number 11.
The British Go Bananas Over Donkey Kong Bananza
During the week ending on July 19, according to GFK Entertainment, Donkey Kong Bananza is now the best-selling game in the United Kingdom. Mario Kart World is at the number two spot in its fourth week of release. With a massively positive critical response at a 91 Top Critic average on OpenCritic and 100% of critics recommending the title, it’s no surprise this 3D platformer is doing well in the marketplace.

Tony Hawk and Rugby League are on the Charts
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 took quite a fall from last week as it was second place. Now it’s at the number six position. It has received criticism over only having 10 tracks from the original game. The majority of music is new.
“We wanted to keep the feel of the original games but also introduce new artists and songs,” explained VP of Production at Activision Publishing, Christopher Wilson on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 blog.
Tracks from the IDLES, 100 Gecs, Fontaines D.C., KennyHoopla, and Travis Barker were some of the tunes included instead to help “represent modern skateboard culture,” according to the same blog.
Big Ant Studios developed Rugby League 26, which debuted at 11th place. In addition to including all Super League teams and players from 2025, it also includes female WSL players for the first time. The career mode was expanded and there’s a Pro Team mode to play as well.
Nintendo’s Future
Nintendo is likely to dominate sales charts around the world. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, despite releasing in 2017, is still eighth place. World is likely to follow the last game’s success.

Drag X Drive is also scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 14 but will likely not make much of a mark on the sales charts due to a mixed response to the trailers.
Later this year, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be hitting the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. No official release date has been given yet other than a vague 2025 timing. It will support a 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on the Nintendo Switch 2. You can also utilize the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for precise aiming.
In the near future, Super Mario Party Jamboree will likely see a jump in sales as the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released on July 24. It will include new mini-games revolving around the camera functionality.
