Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft’s latest open-world action RPG in the series, has reached five million players. Its last milestone was over three million players, roughly a week after launch.

The series’ official Twitter confirmed this while outlining other noteworthy stats, including two billion stealth kills, one billion kilometers traveled and 38 million animals petted. It also teases “updates” this week for the journey of Naoe and Yasuke, potentially detailing future content. According to the current roadmap, New Game Plus, new story drops, Codex updates, and more are in the works.

There’s also Claws of Awaji, a story expansion in a new location that adds a new weapon type (the Bo for Naoe), totalling over ten hours of gameplay. Out later this year, it’s allegedly launching sometime in September.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review – we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the visuals, combat, and stealth, though the storytelling could use some work. Head here for details on the latest update, which added a new free story quest and ally, an open world alarm system and Nightmare difficulty.
