PS5 Treated to a Month Packed With Major Games in August 2025

August 2025 is shaping up to be one of the best months for PS5 games in a year that’s quiet on Sony’s first-party front. Next month will be packed with major new releases, including but not limited to Gears of War: Reloaded — arguably the most significant Xbox exclusive to land on PlayStation.

PS5 players will get two more former Xbox exclusives in August 2025

Players will need to prepare their wallets or make some tough decisions, choosing between promising new titles like PS5 console exclusive Lost Soul Aside and Mafia: The Old Country. The former will finally see the light of day after a decade of development.

Besides Gears of War: Reloaded, PS5 players will be treated to Xbox’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, which will come with a free PS5 upgrade of 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for those who owned the original game on PS4.

Then, there’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which needs no introduction. The Konami title is scheduled for release on August 28, less than a week after Dying Light: The Beast drops.

But that’s not all! PS5 players also have games like Madden NFL 26 and Sega’s Shinobi: Art of Vengeance to look forward to. And if you’re looking for something lighter, Abzu developer Giant Squid’s Sword of the Sea is out on August 19, and will be a day-one addition to PS Plus Extra and Premium.
