THE FINALS should be fixed again with the latest Proton Experimental updates

Thankfully the Proton coders for Valve have managed to work quickly to get THE FINALS working on Linux / SteamOS and Steam Deck after it broke again.

At least this time around it really wasn’t the developer blocking anything, just a case Proton needing more tweaks to get a reasonably popular online shooter working again.

Writing on the official GitHub developer Paul Gofman wrote that it “should hopefully be solved (or improved)” with Proton Experimental when using the bleeding-edge Beta branch for it. Many reports on there and in THE FINALS’ Discord show it does indeed fix the issue of the game kicking you out of matches.

Our anti-cheat page was updated to note this.

Likely the next proper update to Proton Experimental directly will have the fix without the need for a Beta. But that could be a few days, a week or longer.
