Acclaimed PS3 RPG Game Possibly Getting a PS5 Sequel

A popular 2012 PS3 action role-playing game could be getting a PS5 sequel, speculation suggests. THQ has filed a trademark for something called “Fatekeeper,” which fans are convinced is a reference to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
Why fans think PS3 game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is getting a PS5 sequel
Those who played Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will probably remember the game’s heavy emphasis on “fate.” Players themselves play as the “Fateless One,” and it just so happens that Kingdoms of Amalur’s third expansion — which released in 2021 as part of the remaster titled Re-Reckoning — is also called Fatesworn.
It’s no surprise, then, that people expect “Fatekeeper” to have something to do with Kingdoms of Amalur.
Worth noting that THQ Nordic has a showcase coming up on August 1, so the timing of this discovery is curious. The trademark application was also filed this month, which suggests that the publisher plans to reveal “Fatekeeper” during the event.
To add some weight to the speculations, Reddit users have pointed out that Kaiko — the developer of Re-Reckoning — was at one point advertising jobs for a “high profile THQ Nordic IP.”
While THQ has quite a few known properties, all these signs point towards a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning sequel in development at Kaiko.
