Alien: Rogue Incursion Drops PSVR2 Requirement with Evolved Edition on PS5 This September
Alien: Rogue Incursion is a solid PSVR2 action horror title, telling an original story in the beloved sci-fi universe. In an effort to put the game in front of more people, developer Survios has announced Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition, which is a regular, non-VR PS5 version of the game.
Details are thin on the ground at the moment, but what we currently know about Evolved Edition is that it’s a reimagined rendition of the game that you can play on your TV, no VR gear required.
On top of that, it will feature “even deadlier Xenomorphs and enhanced visuals”, according to a press release.
Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available when the game launches on 30th September, 2025, costing $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. You can wishlist it now on PS Store.
“As a team that truly loves Alien, we’re incredibly proud of the immersive original story we’ve told with Alien: Rogue Incursion,” says TQ Jefferson, chief product officer at Survios. “Following our great start on VR platforms, we’re excited to bring the Evolved Edition to PC and PS5 later this year so that fans of Alien can experience Zula’s journey wherever they prefer to play.”
The full title of the game, by the way, is Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition, suggesting a Part Two is also on the way.
Our review of the original PSVR2 version concluded that it’s a “solid first attempt from Survios to capture the iconic sci-fi franchise”, praising its use of virtual reality for some great moments.
Whether those moments will translate nicely to the non-VR Evolved Edition remains to be seen.
