All You Can Drift New Trailer Shows Gameplay Ahead of September Release

Microids has shared a new trailer for Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift. This time the video shares a closer look at the gameplay of the sequel to the 2013-released racing game that has gained meme status on social media. It’s currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch and will be available on those platforms starting September 10.
The Racing Game Pedigree Behind It
Garfield Kart 2 is a new racing game developed by Eden Games, a French company that has 25 years of experience in racing games. They have previously worked on Smurfs Kart, multiple Gear Club games like Gear Club Unlimited 2, and their first works were classic V-Rally games back in the 1990’s when the group was still called Eden Studios.

If there’s one game to pick up with the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s Mario Kart World.
Now they assume the role of Garfield Kart 2 developers, taking over from Artefacts Studio, who was the original developer of Garfield Kart. They originally made the game for PC and mobile and released it in 2013. In 2019, they remade it as Garfield Kart: Furious Racing, which is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch.
The new game includes eight characters from the Garfield universe, such as the iconic cat, his owner Jon Arbuckle, his dog companion Odie, and the grey cat Nermal. Players can customize their looks with accessories and compete in online matches with up to eight people. There’s also local multiplayer with split-screen competitions for up to four players.
The new trailer shows a little of what to expect from the game with a humorous introduction that shows Garfield fumbling on the start line. After that, the video shares a first look at gameplay with the lasagna lover and his friends going fast and drifting around cartoon-looking areas.
Finding Your Own Racing Style in a Colorful Cartoon World
According to the developer, Garfield Kart 2 will include colorful, vibrant circuits aligned within three different universes. The general concepts will be detective scenes, pirate seas and cowboy trails, giving them a more distinct look compared to the previous game.
Like Mario Kart and other similar cartoon kart racing games, Garfield Kart 2 includes bonus items that may change the course of races, allowing players to attack others to steal their spots or protect their positions, for instance. There are also shortcuts that may be helpful when exploring the circuits.
In the video, Garfield throws pet food to hinder the competition and Odie walks around with what looks like a soap bar protecting him. It’s also possible to see a bit of the customization options, with Garfield using a white hat, Liz wearing a cowboy hat, and other variations that show up briefly.

The customization will go further than just accessories, though, as the kart itself will also have options. Bumpers, wheels and spoilers are some of the parts that players can change, making their kart better aligned with their preferences in attributes. It’ll also be possible to adjust color and style to make aesthetic changes to the ride.
