Battlefield 6 Should Be Playable for All PS5 Players Soon

Today, Electronic Arts revealed that the name of the next Battlefield game will be Battlefield 6. A full reveal trailer is set to release on July 24. According to a recent leak, PS5 players may be able to check out the next entry in the popular first-person shooter series very soon.
When can PS5 players play Battlefield 6?
In a recent post on the GamingLeakAndRumours subreddit, it shows that a beta build for Battlefield 6 is scheduled to be published on August 4. This is just under two weeks away as of this writing. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the build will be available to play on that date, but it is possible. It would not be surprising if EA wants to continue to hype up its upcoming shooter shortly after its official reveal in a couple of days.
Additionally, a recent X (formerly Twitter) post from the official Battlefield account mentioned an Open Beta, which will feature playlists with open weapons and Signature Weapons locked to class. Specifically, the company mentioned there would be “more to come,” which indicates they would share more information about the Open Beta period pretty soon. It isn’t officially confirmed, but it seems likely that PS5 players will be able to check out the game in the coming months, if not August 4.
In terms of when players can expect Battlefield 6 to release, that is still up in the air. However, earlier this year, in the EA third quarter results for the 2025 fiscal year report, it claimed the shooter would release in the 2026 fiscal year. This means the game could launch between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. However, like any game release without a concrete date, the launch date can always shift outside of its initial target.
“EA unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing player-driven testing and innovation ahead of the franchise’s expected fiscal year 2026 release,” says the report.
