Preferred Talismans and Relics

With every character in Elden Ring Nightreign being unique in their own right, you may have the urge to try out Revenant once you’ve unlocked her. She’s a very specialized character that provides several types of support on the battlefield, but has many weaknesses. With a high FP pool and an affinity for incantations and sorceries, she has many options to provide damage and healing to an entire party.

This elusive summoner is available to join the cast of characters, but it takes some work.

Revenant’s Abilities

She is a hybrid character that can focus on backline support and damage.

This character is quite different from the rest of the cast of characters that you can play. She’s more of a summoner support role that is weak in one-on-one engagements, forcing you to play further back and use your summons as distractions when you’ve been targeted. First thing to pay attention to is her Passive Ability, Necromancy, which is a very strong early-game tool to gain an edge at the start. This passive will bring back foes you’ve dealt a finishing blow to. These phantoms are short-lived and will dissipate after one minute, and aren’t affected by your ultimate art, but there can be multiple ghosts on the field alongside your Summoned Spirits.

Summoned Spirits are the main piece of Revenant’s kit. They provide support on the battlefield in several ways. When you’ve been targeted by a boss or mob, you can summon Helen, Frederick, or Sebastian for some support to draw their attention. If a party member has gone down near you, you can also target them and summon either of them to help bring your teammate back from the brink. However, other than these brief bouts of support, these summons can’t provide much more than this during boss fights. They are fairly weak and gain bonus moves when they’re on the field as you use your Ultimate Ability, but they aren’t meant to overwhelm a boss.

Immortal March, Revenant’s Ultimate Art, is a strong support ultimate. Unfortunately, you want to use this in only a few scenarios, otherwise, it may prove to be somewhat useless. The ability itself doesn’t do a lot of damage later on in expeditions, meaning you want to hold on to it for when allies go down, or when you’ve been surrounded by smaller enemies. Your summoned spirits will gain bonus attacks and will become unkillable for a brief moment. However, they will still take damage if hit, and can’t fall lower than 1 HP. Using your ultimate art to buff your summons isn’t a great choice in boss fights, but using it to bring back allies who have been downed is always a good choice.

Recluse is the certified spellcaster, looking to find and cast the most powerful spells to take down her enemies.

Weapon Priority

With extremely high Faith and Arcane stats, you’ll want to focus on using spells.

The ideal setup for Revenant while on expeditions would be weapons that have high faith or arcane scaling. These come in a few forms, such as her default Cursed Claws weapon or the Cipher Pata and Clinging Bone weapons. However, Revenant isn’t very great up close and personal with a dangerous enemy due to her extremely low health stats. Something to consider instead would be a variety of staff spells in your main hand, and a mix of seals in your off-hand for incantations. With a Great Shield in your off-hand arsenal will also provide any defense should you find yourself in danger as well.

While she can fight at melee range, you’ll typically be in way too much danger and risk getting instantly downed by a boss. It is incredibly risky to go into an all-out offense against powerful enemies, and you need to prioritize safety to still provide support to your allies. Another thing to note while preparing for the end of your expeditions is to collect as many Starlight Shards as possible. Despite being a caster like Recluse, she cannot regenerate her FP while in combat and will need to rely on Starlight Shards to keep casting her powerful spells.

Preferred Talismans and Relics

Focus on finding Talismans that can help with FP management.

When looking for the ideal Talisman setup while on a run, you will want to take any that bolster your FP. These can include the Primal Glintstone Blade, which will reduce your spell FP cost at the cost of your maximum HP going down by 15%. With her already low health, this won’t hamper her at all, since she will most likely go down very quickly when hit. You will want to go all-in on your spell casting. The Godfrey Icon will increase the attack power of charged spells and skills to provide a boost in damage for those bigger spells that deal a ton of damage.

Seeking out reliably good relics can be quite a challenge, with many of these randomized stat bonuses not being in line with her playstyle. Finding one to augment her Ultimate Art to trigger a bit of extra damage is never a bad idea; this will provide just a bit more damage to a boss while also bringing back your downed allies faster. Using relics to improve certain incantations and spells will be something you’ll most certainly want, making any of these you find on expeditions much stronger. Bringing in some to increase your maximum FP will also be a solid choice; you’ll want as many options and combinations of these as you can get to gain that edge in battle.

Revenant is a strong character in certain respects while being very weak in many others. While she can provide backline damage and support for the party, she is incredibly weak when forced to go on hard offense or defense. When playing as her, you’ll want to do everything you can to bring your summons into battle to ensure they can draw attention away from you or your party. Casting spells non-stop will also force a boss to target you most of the time, and finding a good rhythm with your party to cast these spells while they maintain the most aggro is key to playing her well.
