Blue Prince: Hardest Puzzles, Ranked

There are a lot of puzzles in Blue Prince
, and while some of them are fair and somewhat easy to figure out, others can be incredibly cryptic or just rely on straight-up luck to complete them properly.

The best rooms to draft outside of the mansion in Blue Prince.
We truly have spent hours on some of these puzzles (and we don’t mean in-game hours), and they ranged from frustrating to absolutely rage-inducing, making us literally scratch our heads wondering what to do next.

VAC Breaker
Colors don’t always make things more fun
It takes a lot of work to get to the point where you can actually figure out how to turn on the VAC Breaker (inside the Mail Room and Office), let alone actually succeed at entering the right sequence.
It’s a confusing and easy-to-screw-up puzzle that will probably take a lot of trial-and-error on your first attempt. If you’re like us, it will also take some trial-and-error on every other attempt as well.

Opening Blackbridge Grotto
I hate levers, but not as much as I hate the Boiler Room
It was already hard enough to turn on the Boiler Room, but getting the Laboratory connected to the power source in the center is an act of pure luck, even if you attach other rooms in the process.
Doing so only unlocks another puzzle, which is a time-consuming and difficult task that absolutely requires the player to spend some time with a pen and paper, jumping between the two Periodic Tables on the walls of the Lab.
6
Room 8
This is a sinful creation
The problem we had with Room 8 was that too many of these cute critters were holding signs that could easily apply to multiple boxes. Not only that, but a few of the correct answers were also incredibly vague.

How to find the key to unlock Room 8, and solve the puzzle inside!
Was the prize worth it? Considering how lucky you have to get in a single day to even enter the eighth room, we’re gonna have to say no, it’s not (but we will still take it, on principle).
5
The Chess Puzzle
Somebody overthrow this king
The Chess puzzle was difficult for numerous reasons. It required completing the Glass Elevator puzzle, the West Gate Path puzzle and unlocking all the other permanent upgrades on the Grounds outside the mansion.
Remembering where every single Chess piece was located is tough (not to mention getting lucky enough to draft the Throne Room and enough other rooms in the same day). Thankfully, you can cheese it a bit by testing every spot on the board with each piece, and the prizes are epic.

Microchips
Where are these things?
The mystery of the missing microchips in the Blackbridge Grotto was a doozy, requiring dropping a hefty amount of cash in the Bookstore, just to have to closely analyze and solve a series of puzzles inside the book A New Clue.
Not only that, but there were multiple uses for the Microchips that weren’t even mentioned, with the sundial in the apple orchard hiding a secret compartment to plug them in and unlock the crucial Satellite Dish. We felt like actual detectives after solving this mystery.

Gallery
What’s in a name?
We like puns as much as the next person, but the Gallery took us an especially long time and ended up being a really frustrating experience, with the grand prize only leading to yet another difficult puzzle in Room 8.
The paintings in these rooms have a lot of wrong answers, as well as way too many red herrings to throw you off the scent of the true answer. Thankfully, the prizes will be refreshed every day without re-entering the answers, so it becomes a free gem room afterward.
2
Reaching Room 46
The ultimate goal
The finale of the game is based around reaching the legendary 46th room of the manor, which in itself requires a large amount of planning and coordination (and luck). Making it your first time and seeing those credits roll makes it all worth it, until you realize you have to do it all over again to actually see the inside of the room.

How to find the combination to all seven safes on Mt. Holly.
Reaching Room 46 was as difficult a task as any, seeing as you had to solve half the underground puzzles and manage to have enough steps to make it back to Room 46 in time (not to mention figuring out where everything is).

The Red Letter Safes
Today is NOT the day
As the cooler letter in the Freezer tells us, there are 8 safes scattered around the property of Mt. Holly, each of them containing a letter and locked with a date. While a few of these were pretty straightforward, others (the Drawing Room and the Underground Red Door) were brutal.
What makes matters worse is that one of these 8 letters is missing, and no player has been able to find it yet. We would like to know where the groundskeeper hid it, and we don’t even want the gem that was with it anymore.
