Copilot for Gaming is now available on Xbox app for mobile

Microsoft is expanding its AI-powered initiatives into gaming, launching a beta version of Copilot for Gaming on mobile devices starting today. The new digital assistant will be capable of offering tips for in-game tactics, or help you find something new to play.

Designed to act as a second screen while playing on Xbox, Copilot for Gaming allows users to ask questions regarding in-game tactics and controls via voice and text. Players can also request game suggestions or detailed information about their Xbox accounts and subscriptions. Taylor O’Malley, the Xbox principal program manager, explained that the companion is aware of the game being played and the user’s Xbox activity, enabling it to provide contextual answers, web links for more information, or insights based on account history and achievements.

This early preview of Copilot for Gaming will be accessible in over 50 regions through the Xbox app’s beta edition. Android and iOS users who’ve already downloaded the Xbox app beta can provide feedback by rating responses and highlighting inaccurate replies. Android users who haven’t previously downloaded the Xbox app beta can do so via the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, iOS users who do not already have the Xbox beta app cannot download it.

Looking ahead, Microsoft confirmed that a Copilot for Gaming test will soon be available in Game Bar on Windows PCs, with broader distribution planned for the entire Xbox platform.
