Dead By Daylight players are currently celebrating the final Twisted Masquerade event. This is BeHaviour’s annual anniversary celebration, and there are a lot of Bloodpoints and Shards to acquire through daily login rewards. While these daily logins are available, DBD players have noticed a reduction in receiving cake. Unfortunately, in response to the complaints, Dead By Daylight devs have confirmed they are offering less Bloodpoints than usual with nerfs working “as intended”.

Dead By Daylight devs offering less Bloodpoints “as intended”

Following the release of update 9.0.2, users on Reddit accused BeHaviour of “still ignoring the cake issue”. In response, the official DeadbyDaylight_dev Reddit account said, “We already addressed the cake issue at level 50 bloodwebs/P100 characters. This was the only area where the cakes were not appearing as intended”.

Responding to BeHaviour’s explanation, one user commented, “I am only getting 1 cake per web and the items are spawning at a fixed rate. In previous years it’s been completely random, most webs would have at least 2 cakes, sometimes even 3… The randomness and higher drop rate was so much better”.

To this, DeadbyDaylight_dev revealed, “We are aware that the cakes are appearing less than previous years; the cakes are appearing as intended”. This is confirmation that the drop rate for cakes has been nerfed, meaning BeHaviour Interactive are offering less Bloodpoints than usual.

The confirmation from BeHaviour resulted in a wave of backlash with the comment receiving over 400 downvotes. Many replies echoed the sentiment “this is awful” and “stop ruining fun”. Others also accused the developer of “making the grind for BP even more painful”.

In another separate post discussing the nerf to anniversary cakes, one user said, “The entire point of the event is to farm bp offerings to last as long as possible”. In rebellion of BeHaviour’s nerf, another user revealed, “One thing I’ve noticed is if you want to farm BP offerings, use the bulk option. I’m getting like 15-20 more cakes each prestige level than if I do the manual or center node method”.

There’s no explanation as to why BeHaviour Interactive have fixed the drop rate for cakes, all we know is it’s intentional. Some users have joked they are “going to lecture us about the BLOOD POINT ECONOMY,” while another user bemoaned, “It’s a freaking anniversary why would they think it’s a good idea to be LESS celebratory?”.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem BeHaviour have any plans to make cakes appear more based on the wishes of fans. This is disappointing, especially with the daily logins not reaching, never mind eclipsing, one million Bloodpoints in total.
