Death Stranding 2 Platinum Trophy Description Censored by PS5

PS5 players are unable to share their Death Stranding 2 Platinum trophy screenshots because of PSN‘s language filters. The trophy’s official description is “Homo Liberans: The Savior of Humanity,” and you won’t get any prizes for guessing which word gets flagged by the system.
Death Stranding 2 trophy description not the first thing caught incorrectly by PS5 censorship filters
A Reddit user shared an amusing screenshot of PSN filters in overdrive when they attempted to share a screenshot of the moment they unlocked Death Stranding 2’s Platinum trophy. PS5 automatically generates texts when sharing screenshots and clips, and in this case, wouldn’t allow the player to send the message because it contained a “swear word.”
“Remove swear word to continue,” reads the warning. Once “Homo” was removed, the screenshot went through swimmingly.
This isn’t the first time and won’t be the last time PSN filters incorrectly flag words. Back in 2016, Sony outright banned a long-time PSN user from the service because their real name is Jihad.
In response to the Reddit post, users began sharing their own run-ins with censorship systems.
“I feel that. I wasn’t allowed to use the name of the city I live in games,” wrote one player. When asked what their city is called, they replied that they live in Japan’s Fukuoka.
“I can’t remember if it was Microsoft or Sony but some guy got banned for living in Fort Gay, a real city, and using it as his location,” another user wrote, referring to an incident involving Xbox Live back in 2010 that resulted in Microsoft issuing an apology to the player after the town’s mayor got involved.
Good ol’ filters!
