“Directorate Novitiate” Story Elements Previewed by Devs – Early Access Version Due This Summer

Trust is dangerous. Love is deadly. Today, Nesting Games unveiled the narrative trailer for Directorate Novitiate, an ambitious urban fantasy action RPG set to launch in Early Access this summer. The trailer introduces Kana Luna, known in the shadows as Mercury, a young assassin torn between two worlds: her everyday life and the secret, magical criminal empire of the Directorate. Set against the shadows of 2006 Los Angeles, Mercury faces a spiraling web of lies, betrayal, and supernatural threats.

With quiet intensity and stylized noir visuals, the trailer teases Mercury’s double life. By day, she’s a daughter and friend; by night, an assassin navigating a secret war between Syndicates. As the mysterious Constellation Killer closes in, Mercury faces impossible choices between loyalty, survival, and her own humanity. It’s 2006, Los Angeles: The seedy supernatural underworld is on the verge of war, with Mercury caught in the crosshairs. Face overwhelming magical forces, discover the horrors hiding in plain sight, track a serial killer, and grapple with difficult choices and dangerous secrets.

Directorate Novitiate is a third-person narrative action RPG set in a reimagined magical Los Angeles. Players shape their version of Mercury through branching choices, evolving relationships, and cinematic combat. Every friend, rival, and location holds secrets, and every decision comes with consequences.
