Dying Light: The Beast Game Length Revealed for PS5 Open-World Game

Originally intended to be DLC, Dying Light: The Beast is shaping up to be a pretty large game. Developer Techland has revealed just how long players may spend in its zombie apocalypse.
How long is Dying Light: The Beast?
In an interview with GamesRadar+, franchise director Tymon Smektala revealed Dying Light: The Beast features a 20-hour story. Players will have plenty to do, potentially increasing that play time significantly. Specifically, the zombie action game will have 20 to 30 hours of “additional stuff.”
“I think we are very competitive compared to basically anything that’s there on the market,” Smektala says. “Just like AAA [games], we really want this to be a game with a presence. It grew a lot over the last number of months [and] I think it deserves that.”
Dying Light: The Beast will release for PS5 on August 21. Players can preorder it on the PS Store starting at $59.99. The Deluxe Edition, which costs $69.99, gives purchasers a few extra pieces of DLC along with the base game. Additionally, players who preorder will get the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, The Follower Crossbow, In Jade’s Memory Pistol, and Castor Woods Patrol.
Anyone who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human will receive Dying Light: The Beast at no additional cost. This is because, as mentioned, it was slated to be DLC for the 2022 release and was part of its season pass. However, it grew to become a full-fledged game. Techland is honoring the promise it gave to players who purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game.
“You are Kyle Crane. After being captured by the Baron and enduring his painful experiments for years, you escape,” reads the game’s description. “But the scars remain. Left on the edge of humanity with both human and zombie DNA, you struggle to control your inner beast and the conflict that comes with it. But you’ll need to, if you want to get your revenge on the man who did this to you.”
