Fallout: Bakersfield looks like an awesome Doom total conversion with a new trailer

Made with GZDoom, a fresh teaser for Fallout: Bakersfield has been released and now I’m excited all over again for it. Previously it had a teaser back in September 2022 which was a brief 55 seconds.

The new trailer is over 4 minutes long and notes it’s a “‘non-commercial 1993’ Doom total conversion (GZDoom WAD)” in the description. The developer also gives special thanks to Dave Oshry, CEO of New Blood Interactive.

Check it out below:

No word on a release date, as the trailer has a release date bit at the end that quickly flickers from 2027 and 2025 and then flickers about again. So we really have no clue right now. Overall the trailer suggests it’s about 60% done, so clearly a while away yet.

Modders will stop at nothing to make the most crazy things in GZDoom and I love it. Should hopefully be easy enough to get it working on Linux thanks to GZDoom’s excellent cross-platform support.
