New Fortnite tournaments are only available on console

Back in Chapter 1, Epic Games added cross-platform lobbies to Fortnite, which was a great move. Unfortunately, a few years later, many players believe that this option should be removed. While it’s possible to turn off crossplay in Fortnite, this typically results in extremely long queue times, which is not ideal. Fortunately, Epic has found a decent solution.

The first event begins on Friday, June 13. Each cup will include two rounds:

  • Round 1: Lasts two hours, with a maximum of seven matches.
  • Round 2: Lasts one hour, with up to three matches.

To qualify for Round 2:

  • The top 500 teams from NA-Central and Europe will advance.
  • Smaller regions will send their top 250 teams.

In Round 2, teams will compete for a cash prize of $200 per win. This means each tournament offers a total of $600 per Duo per region, allowing individual players to win up to $300 per session.

Round 1 has a duration of two hours with a maximum of seven matches. Round 2 is even shorter, lasting only an hour with up to three matches. The total cash prize is $600 per Duo per region, meaning that a player can win up to $300 per session.

These console-only Fortnite tournaments will be available every Friday, running from June 13 to August 1. For all rules, please visit the official rulebook.
