While Arrowhead Game Studios has been continuously supporting Helldivers 2 with plenty of post-launch updates, the studio has seemingly also planned out plans for more content in the future. According to GamesRadar, Helldivers 2 community manager Katherine Baskin spoke about the studio’s plans for the title on its official Discord server.

In her post, Baskin wrote about how the studio knows about what will be coming to the co-op shooter down the line. However, she also noted that these plans can change depending on various factors. “I know what’s coming for Helldivers for the next few years,” said Baskin.

“It’s important that I know, so I can help develop and engage the community alongside whatever we’re doing,” she continued, while also saying that plans are “subject to change”.

Earlier this month Arrowhead Game Studios unveiled the newest Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2. Dubbed Control Group, the Warbond brings with it a host of new weapons and armour. The weapons in the Warbond, being based on “alien” tech, include things like the VG-70 Variable with seven barrels that can also be shot in full auto, as well as the PLAS-45 Epoch support weapon that fires plasma into a “focused sphere” when charged.

Earlier this month, Baskin had also acknowledged player feedback about how there needs to be more challenging activities in Helldivers 2. Responding to a player who wanted more enemies that don’t just die in one hit of a heavy weapon, Baskin said that there are plans at the studio to address this particular feedback.

“I can’t really say exact plans (obviously), but we are looking for ways to provide more challenge to players,” she posted.

August is slated to be a pretty big month for Helldivers 2, with the game making its way on to Xbox Series X/S on August 26. Much like its PS5 and PC versions, Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X/S will also be priced at $39.99, with a $59.99 Super Citizen Edition also being available. The game is available for pre-order, which will award players with three armour sets.

Arrowhead Game Studios has also confirmed that it will be replacing the Super Citizen Edition’s inclusion of the Steeled Veteran Warbond with a Warbond Token that can instead be redeemed by players to grab any of the Premium Warbonds available for the game. Players can also choose to hang on to the Warbond Token in case they don’t want to buy any of the ones currently available.

“Prior to now players could accidentally double up purchases on the ‘Steeled Veterans Warbond’ in the game and with the Super Citizen Edition Upgrade,” explained the studio about the Warbond Token system. “We never want players to buy things twice and not get the value of what they paid for!”

With its looming release on Xbox Series X/S, the developer has also confirmed that it has no current plans to bring Helldivers 2 on to Xbox Game Pass. In a post, Baskin had also noted that players will not be able to carry over their progress from the PS5 version to the Xbox Series X/S version, at least for now. However, all platforms will feature cross-platform play.

In the meantime, Helldivers 2 is currently available on PC and PS5.
