Helldivers 2 has been one of the biggest success stories since its launch in early 2024, but the journey hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing. Last year there was a whole debacle about Sony trying to enforce PSN accounts upon PC players, and this resulted in HD2 being heavily review bombed. Thankfully, Sony reversed their decision, and PlayStation has also recently unlocked regional restrictions for HD2 on PC. Following the unlocking of these regions, Arrowhead has now dropped a free commemorative cape rewarding Helldivers 2 players for sticking with the game through thick and thin.

Arrowhead has released a free commemorative cape for Helldivers 2 players. This is the review bomb cape that was promised over a year ago in wake of the PSN debacle. Arrowhead promised to release the cape once regional restrictions on PC were lifted, which is why we’re getting it now.
Per Arrowhead, this free cape is in honor of the community’s “unquestioning commitment to the defense of Managed Democracy”. The cape will be “available in all Super Destroyer Armories as soon as the rollout is complete”.
If you don’t find the free cape in your inbox, you may need to just wait as it being rolled out for “all existing players”.
The cape itself looks absolutely gorgeous. It was previously leaked by Iron_S1ghts, and it looks incredible with its slick red lines, black backdrop, and tints of blue. It’s definitely a cape worthy of donning on the battlefield while fending off Illuminate, bugs, and Automaton Hulks that can now fly.
