Infuriating Helldivers 2 bug may finally be over in next update as devs are “testing” a fix

It’s an exciting time for fans of Helldivers 2 as there’s a lot to look forward to. The next Warbond is expected before the end of July based on the usual release schedule, and, shortly following the new bundle, Arrowhead are achieving the impossible by being the first PlayStation-published game on Xbox. While the next Warbond and Xbox release are exciting, a lot of Super Earth soldiers are eagerly anticipating the next update, too. We don’t know when this update will drop, but, once it comes out, it may finally kill an annoying Helldivers 2 bug as Arrowhead are currently “testing” a fix.
Helldivers 2 devs are “testing” a fix for next update
A lot of players are anxiously awaiting the next Helldivers 2 update. This is because of lingering performance issues that have not yet been resolved alongside some bugs.
On Discord, YouTuber Cloud Plays asked QA lead, Jojo, if “we are any closer to the fix for the weapon customization crash issues”. Jojo responded, “A fix for the outstanding customization crashes is in testing right now”. The QA lead added, “So all being well we should see the end of it next update”.
Weapon customization causing the game to crash has been a huge bane in HD2 for at least over a month. There are numerous threads on Reddit about the issue, and it’s a problem on PC as well as PS5.
Players on PC have suggested fixes by deleting the Helldivers 2 folder in Appdata\Roaming\Arrowhead, but obviously this isn’t ideal, not to mention it’s also an issue on consoles. Hopefully the fix does come out in the next update as weapon customization should be a big part of HD2, and frequent crashes is not good.
In addition to a fix for this bug, Jojo revealed Arrowhead are continuously “working very hard on performance improvements”. Fixes for performance woes are “still ongoing,” but it takes a long time, and it gets “more complicated [as Arrowhead] keep adding more” fixes and content.
