Intergalactic Rumor Will Please TLOU Fans, Sets Release Date Window

A rumor has popped up regarding Naughty Dog‘s highly anticipated space-faring adventure, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The information given suggests when players can expect its release, as well as a gameplay comparison that will excite The Last of Us fans.
Newest Intergalactic rumors compare it to The Last of Us 2 and Dark Souls
In a recent post on 4Chan (H/T GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit) regarding Intergalactic claims that it will feature open areas similar to Naughty Dog’s last video game, The Last of Us Part 2, as well as FromSoftware’s Dark Souls franchise.
In terms of combat, the post claims it is “really good and satisfying,” allowing the player to string combos similar to Santa Monica Studio’s God of War (2018). However, these combat encounters can seemingly be avoided entirely by sneaking past enemies or negotiating with them with dialogue choices. The main protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, can talk to other characters with a dialogue wheel, but the post claims those moments are “sparse.”
Although there will be cutscenes in Intergalactic, the post also suggests that players will be able to piece together the story by finding items, collecting journal entries, and exploring. Naughty Dog has become known for its environmental storytelling, so this claim isn’t too much of a stretch.
Not much is revealed about it graphically. However, one brief tidbit claims that Intergalactic’s lighting engine is “insane,” with levels changing colors based on the planet’s phase.
Lastly, the leak claims Intergalactic is targeting a late 2026 release. While a release window has yet to be officially announced, one of the latest claims by reporter Jason Schreier said it would not release before 2027. We’ll just have to wait and see which claim comes to fruition.
Like any rumor, especially ones coming from 4chan, it should be taken with a grain of salt. We won’t really know any of this information until Naughty Dog and Sony decide to unveil it formally.
