Season 3 of Marvel Rivals is off to a great start. Many players are trying out Phoenix, a new hero, while also progressing through the Battle Pass. NetEase also released summer skins on Thursday, adding even more amazing content to the season. The player count is looking healthy, but unfortunately, not everyone is able to enjoy the latest season.

It appears that the latest Marvel Rivals ban wave has affected some innocent players. This has sparked controversy in the community, and it will be interesting to see what the game developer will do about it.

The latest Marvel Rivals ban wave is apparently affecting innocent players

With the release of Season 3, Marvel Rivals started to crack down on smurfing, one of the biggest problems in the game. Players who were suspected of doing this received a warning for their first infraction, which was certainly a step in the right direction. Those who didn’t stop smurfing were banned, and it appears that most players received a season-long ban.

Unfortunately, this change came with unexpected side effects. Several players claim they’ve been banned for no reason and can no longer continue with competitive play. Most of these players have been inactive for a long time, such as Reddit user poorF2Pnoob. This player claims to have been demoted from Celestial to Silver after being inactive for two seasons, which eventually resulted in a smurfing ban.

The Reddit user is not the only one who claims to have been banned for no reason. However, it’s hard to know what the truth is. NetEase certainly doesn’t want to prevent innocent players from competing, so this problem should be fixed soon. Unfortunately, this might also mean that the game developer will have to change its anti-cheat system.
