NetEase’s Marvel Rivals has become a modding war as users test the limits of the Marvel universe. Since its release, modders have released a stream of creative mods ranging from changing Iron Man into Dragon Ball’s Vegeta to transforming Jeff the Land Shark into Chainsaw Man’s Pochita.
Other famous mods include a Captain America with Donald Trump’s head, which provoked outrage and was quickly removed from Nexus Mods, and an Akatsuki-themed Cloak and Dagger skin for Naruto fans. These mods, which are uploaded on platforms such as Nexus Mods, have received millions of downloads despite NetEase’s crackdown.
NetEase disabled skin mods in Season 1 by implementing asset hash checks and signature validations, and warned players about potential bans for violating the terms of service. The community remains divided as some praise the ingenuity, while others support NetEase’s efforts to maintain the game’s integrity. Despite the tug-of-war, modders continue to thrive, with searches for “Marvel Rivals Nexus Mods” up 140%. Now, a stunning new mod has been released, combining two legendary franchises in an unprecedented way.
Marvel Rivals modder brings Pokémon to the hero shooter roster
As if Palworld vs Pokémon wasn’t enough, Marvel Rivals modders have brought the iconic franchise to NetEase’s hero shooter, and not just one, but six characters have gotten their own modded skins. The mod pack called Fusion’s Pokémon collection is released by FusionFalcon05 on Nexus Mods.

The mod reworks heroes such as Squirrel Girl, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Mister Fantastic, Magik, and Mantis. Here are all the Pokémon you’ll be able to see instead of the above hero skins:
Squirrel Girl
- Replaces Squirrel Girl with Dawn
- Replaces Tippy Toe with Pachirisu
- Replaces various acorns with pokeballs (reload acorns and start of root acorn)
- Shiny recolor
Black Panther

Dr. Strange

Mr. Fantastic

However, keep in mind that using mods in Marvel Rivals can result in a ban because they violate the game’s terms of service, which forbid illegal third-party software such as cheats, bots, hacks, and mods. Mods, including cosmetic ones such as custom skins or soundtrack changes, might have an impact on NetEase’s earnings from official cosmetic sales, which are an important financing source for the free-to-play game. Mods can also interfere with gameplay balance or performance, which affects fair play.
