The next Marvel Rivals update is set to come out on Thursday, July 17. This will be the first major update of Season 3, and NetEase will bring lots of new content with it. While the highlight of the update will be the summer event, it will also include buffs and nerfs in order to balance the game.

Thanks to the patch notes, the game creator has revealed all the details about the upcoming update, so let’s dive right into it and see what’s waiting for us!

The next Marvel Rivals update will bring several nerfs and almost no buffs

Season 3 has been out for less than a week, yet some heroes have already separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Wolverine is one of these heroes, as he set the record for the highest ban rate in Marvel Rivals history. Logan’s tank-shredding abilities have been deemed too powerful, which is why NetEase nerfed him.

Here are all the details regarding Wolverine’s nerf:

  • Reduced Percentage Damage per attack at maximum Rage from 4.5% to 3.5%
  • Increased Regenerative Healing Factor cooldown from 90s to 105s
  • Increased cooldown reduction from 10s to 12s when participating in KOs

Additionally, Wolverine’s Team-Up with Phoenix took a hit. Once the new update comes out, Logan’s lifesteal will be reduced to 25% (down from 33%), resulting in slower healing. Considering that this is one of the most effective Team-Ups in the game, it’s no surprise that NetEase nerfed it.

Finally, the upcoming Marvel Rivals update will bring a small buff as well. After using his Feral Leap ability, Wolverine’s primary attack turns into Berserk Claw Strike, which deals 6 damage per hit. Once the update comes out, the Duelist will deal 8 damage with this ability. This buff will increase his Berserk Claw Strike DPS from 35 to 47, allowing him to deal 34% more damage with it.
