If you’re totally broke you can claim some free games to keep on Steam right now, thanks to game publisher Slitherine Ltd.
Slitherine are having a big publisher sale so you can also get various other games cheap, but you have until July 17 at 9am UTC to claim these titles to keep forever:

Completely unrelated but a little indie game called Caribbean Crashers is also currently free to keep until July 17th at 5pm UTC as well.
