A brand-new Baldur’s Gate 3 mod has been released that aims to turn Larian’s RPG into “an entirely new tactical RPG experience” that combines the “best and highest quality mods from the community” into one massive project.

Available only on PC, the Baldur’s and Beyond Project is now available via a single installer with its own updater. The combined version of these mods aims to provide an entirely new, more difficult and thoughtful experience to the game while also massively expanding it.

With the new mod pack, Baldur’s Gate 3 is turned into an experience more similar to Divinity Original Sin 2 with reworked actions, bonus actions and reactions. It’s a much different experience but, as with any mod, you can also just revert to base BG3, which is already amazing.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s huge Baldur’s and Beyond mod

Available right here, the Baldur’s and Beyond Project reworks a number of “unbalanced” community-made mods with many other mods being “completely redesigned from the ground up” to create an extensive expanded version of the game.

First and foremost, players now hgave access to nearly “100 new subclasses” including blood mages, battle alchemists and elemental zealots. With so many new classes to use, the project aims to put a lot more emphasis on the importance of character building.

To enhance this, the project also adds new feats, traits, passives and skills that add new strategy to your character as well as a level-cap increase all the way up to Level 20. Alongside this level cap increase, the world itself has been rescaled with a tonne of new, powerful enemies to make sure that it scales fairly alongside the player. After all, a Level 20 player vs Level 10 mobs would be a slaughter.

Additionally, combat has been completely rebalanced with more “tactical AI” and complete removal of “weak enemies”. The modders behind the project claim that the new Baldur’s and Beyond project makes the game “fair” while also offering an “unforgiving challenge”. Pretty much, this is a game for the pros.

There are numerous changes here, including brand-new UIs, tweaks to the game’s autosave and much more. There’s also a smaller party, access to more powerful undead forms, countless bug fixes and performance improvements and so, so much more. It’s intense, and listing everything would take for hours and no-one, not even I, would read it.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s modding community is almost feral in its dedication to Larian’s game with mod teams filled with hundreds of fans creating entire custom campaigns that take players back to locations from the second game. It’s an amazing community, and this is still only the start.
