New Konami RPG Has Free PS5 Demo, PS Plus Not Required
In case you missed it, Konami has just released a new action RPG on PS5, a free demo for which is available on the PS Store. The demo for Edens Zero is listed as a trial, but fret not, it’s not locked behind a PS Plus Premium membership.

Edens Zero is based on the Hiro Mashima comic/anime. Mashima was consulted throughout the game’s development.
“Step into the shoes of Shiki and co. and play through the original story, expanded with tons of game-exclusive content and quests, and all set within a vast open world!” reads an official description. “Experience satisfying battles full of intricate combos and Finishing Attacks using Ether Gear. Master each character’s unique combat style, including close-range melee, long-range shooting, weapon-based attacks, and offensive magic.”
All save data from the trial can be transferred to the full game, should players make a purchase. However, trophies cannot be unlocked in the free version.
And while this trial isn’t locked behind PS Plus Premium, members do get a bonus in that the demo can be streamed and doesn’t require a download.
Edens Zero released this week on Tuesday, July 15. The standard edition costs $59.99.
