Next major Marvel Rivals update will completely change the game

Marvel Rivals Season 3 went live on Friday, bringing lots of new content. Besides a new hero and a Klyntar Domination map, NetEase also performed a rank reset, which is why many players are climbing back up in the competitive mode. On top of that, the latest Battle Pass is packed with fantastic cosmetics, some of which can be unlocked for free.

Despite all of this new content in the recent update, the Marvel Rivals developer has already revealed many things that will come in the future. Season 3.5 is planned to launch on August 8 and will bring a game-changing feature.

The next big Marvel Rivals update will bring a new ranked mode

Shortly before launching Season 3, NetEase revealed a Marvel Rivals roadmap for July and August, promising lots of new content. In the second week of the season, the developer will release summer costumes, followed by new Fantastic Four skins based on an upcoming MCU movie. The final week of the season will bring Phoenix skins for Magik and Black Panther, all leading up to the release of Season 3.5.

This mid-season Marvel Rivals update will bring Blade, another Duelist, additional balance changes, and more. But the most exciting addition? A brand-new ranked mode, which was officially teased by NetEase.

At the moment, it’s unknown what this mode will be about. However, there is a chance that NetEase will overhaul the existing ranked system. Considering that this is something many players have complained about, it could be the right move. Combined with the developer’s recent crackdown on smurfing in Season 3, this could significantly improve the competitive experience going forward.

Season 3.5 is scheduled to come out on August 8, exactly four weeks after the release of Season 3.
