Nintendo Switch 2 Sells Over 3.5 Million in Four Days

The Nintendo Switch 2 has sold over 3.5 million units in its first four days, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa announced, which is the highest global sales for any Nintendo hardware in that period.
Launching on June 5th worldwide, the Switch 2 retains the original’s hybrid design but with several improvements. The Joy-Con 2s now attach magnetically to the console, and the screen is larger, measuring 7.8 inches while offering VRR in Handheld mode. Even its dock has received some attention, with a built-in fan and up to 4K resolution on compatible TVs.
Sales per region are still relatively unknown, with NielsenIQ reporting the biggest launch for a Nintendo console in the UK. It’s seemingly beaten out the previous record holder, the 3DS, and the original Switch.
The Nintendo Switch 2 retails for $449.99. Check out our review for our thoughts. Launch titles for the platform include Mario Kart World, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, and more.
