No Straight Roads 2 Rocks Into 2026

No Straight Roads 2 was officially announced on Saturday, providing a sequel to a beloved indie rhythm-action game that has a Very Positive score on Steam. It will be shredding onto PCs and consoles in 2026. You can now wishlist the game from developer Metronomik and new publisher SHUEISHA GAMES today. No specific consoles have been discussed by the publisher.

A New Rhythmic Adventure

The band is getting back together again as Mayday and Zuke return for a world tour in No Straight Roads 2. This time they’re trying to climb the international charts, leading them to new competition and ultimately more bosses to encounter. Bunkbed Junction has two new bandmates, however, that throw new musical styles and gameplay mechanics into the mix. The Steam page promises “bigger cities, more dynamic battles, deeper mechanics, and a genre-diverse soundtrack to rock the world.” There will be collaorative link attacks that you’ll be able to unleash on bosses as well.

Combat returns in No Straight Roads 2

In this sequel, we’ll be switching between characters in real time, letting us solve environmental puzzles, get to unique areas like the LEGO games, and most epicly, chain combos in combat to overpower our foes. Composer of the landmark “SAYU” track, James Landino, is returning, alongside Falk Au Yeong, Garrett Williamson, and Midas Klare (Inverted Silence). The Steam page teases “surprise guest artists” as well. It would be cool if they could get YouTube rock cover artists like

Skar Productions and FamilyJules into the mix.

The first No Straight Roads is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The Original is Worth Checking Out

No Straight Roads is an entertaining action/rhythm hybrid from August 2020 that has you fighting the evil EDM empire, which has taken over the city you know and love. It features incredible music that has received millions of listens on YouTube alone. The base version of James Landino and Nikki Simmons “SAYU” has received over 11 million views on the video platform.

Despite an overly drawn out storyline, our review said, “The boss fights, however, show flashes of well-designed brilliance.” It says, “The game is designed to encourage experimentation to get the most of these parts, and then pushes the player into more elaborate variations that add to the challenge and fun.” It later received a Christmas update, brand new remixes, and a bunch of quality of life updates in the Encore Edition.

The first game was published by Fireshine Games, but the sequel has opted to switch to SHUEISHA GAMES. It has previously released Urban Myth Dissolution Center, Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions, Soulvars, Arcana of Paradise – The Tower -, and Oni: Road to the Mightiest Oni.

SHUEISHA GAMES has somewhat of a spotty history. One of its games has a Very Positive rating on Steam, while two have been Mixed. Fingers crossed, No Straight Roads 2 gets a positive reaction by fans of the original and those who try out this series for the first time.
