PS Plus Classic Gets Surprise PS5, PS4 Trophy Patch

The PS Plus Classics Catalog is filled with some of the best PS1 games in history. One of these legendary titles has just been patched, implementing trophy support for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

PS Plus Classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee gets PS4, PS5 trophies

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee now has trophies for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the beloved PS1 classic. Specifically, according to PSNProfiles, there are a total of 31 trophies: 14 Bronze, 10 Silver, 6 Gold, and 1 Platinum. The trophies are the same across both platforms. Check out the full trophy list here.

Although Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is available at no additional cost to PS Plus Premium subscribers, not everyone pays for the highest tier of Sony’s online gaming service. However, players can simply purchase the game on the PS Store. As of this writing (June 30, 2025), the game costs $4.99.

When Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee originally released in the 90s, it was met with solid reviews. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 85.

“Selected by the fickle finger of fate, Abe, floor-waxer first class for RuptureFarms, was catapulted into a life of adventure when he overheard plans by his boss, Molluck the Glukkon, to turn Abe and his fellow Mudokons into Tasty Treats as part of a last-ditch effort to rescue Molluck’s failing meat-packing empire,” reads the game’s description. “Flee the Industrial mega-complex and guide Abe on an adventure through ancient ruins and mysterious temples as he discovers his destiny and saves his species from the clutches of Molluck and their fate as a tasty food filling!”

The PS1 game was eventually remade from the ground up. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty was originally released in 2014 and was received well by critics. A sequel for the remake, called Oddworld: Soulstorm, was released in 2021 and is a reimagining of Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus. Unlike its predecessor, it was met with mixed reviews.
