PS Plus Essential July 2025 Monthly Free Games Rolling Out Now

PS Plus Essential July 2025 monthly free games have begun rolling out, starting with Japan and Asia where it’s Tuesday, July 1. The lineup will go live in remaining regions at noon local time on Tuesday, July 1, making this your last chance to claim June monthly games.

PS Plus July 2025 free games are a breath of fresh air

After a series of lackluster lineups, Sony surprised members of the most basic PS Plus tier by announcing Diablo IV (PS4, PS5), The King of Fighters XV (PS4, PS5), and Jusant (PS5). All three games are fantastic, making this solid lineup a much-needed breath of fresh air.

As a reminder, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can also snag these games but make sure not to override Essential licenses by claiming the same games from the Extra lineup whenever they’re available.

We feel like a broken record stating this, but games do overlap across tiers sometimes, and Sony has not fixed its licensing issues since the PS Plus revamp over two years ago. This means that if you claim a game from the Essential lineup and then later download the same game from the Extra catalog, you’ll override your license and eventually lose access to said game when it leaves the catalog.

Only Essential games are yours to keep forever.
