Reloaded Coming to PlayStation, Xbox, PC this Summer
The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios today announced Gears of War: Reloaded for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and, for the first-time ever, PS5.
Gears of War is quickly nearing its 20th anniversary. First released in 2006, Gears of War took the world by storm with its gritty storytelling, cover-based mechanics, competitive multiplayer, and intriguing worldbuilding. At a time when Xbox 360 owners were still waiting for Halo 3, Gears of War was able to satisfy early adopters and cement itself as a marquee Xbox franchise. Now, nearly 20 years later, the very first Gears of War is getting a glow-up and a release on a PlayStation platform.

Gears of War: Reloaded brings the full Gears of War experience to modern platforms with brand-new bells and whistles. Releasing August 26, the game will land on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and, for the first time ever, PS5. When we say full, we do mean the full Gears of War experience. That includes all post-launch DLC, the bonus campaign act, all multiplayer maps and modes, and the full roster of playable characters and cosmetics.
Unlike many other remasters and re-releases, Gears of War: Reloaded isn’t cutting anything. You’ll still be able to team up with a friend in campaign co-op, or battle it out online in competitive multiplayer. The game features cross-play and cross-progression across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, ensuring you can play with whoever you want and carry your progress to any platform. While it would have been nice to get a remastered collection of the entire Gears of War trilogy, for $39.99, Gears of War: Reloaded arrives as an extremely compelling package.

Despite originally appearing on Xbox 360, Gears of War: Reloaded won’t look or run like an Xbox 360 game. Whether you’re playing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, The Coalition and Xbox promise a full suite of current-gen features, including:

Gears of War: Reloaded launches August 26 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will be available Day One on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Those who own Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or PC will receive a free upgrade to Gears of War: Reloaded.
