Silence of the Siren renames to Heroes of Science and Fiction to pull in more HoMM fans

Heroes of Science and Fiction is the new name for Silence of the Siren from Oxymoron Games, as they try to pull in more fans of Heroes of Might and Magic. The name change came along with a major update to the game.
What is it? A turn-based strategy game where several different space-faring civilisations fight over control of a distant star system. Explore what’s left on the planets and secure resources to build mighty cities. Raise powerful armies and defeat your opponents on the battlefield. Overall, it’s a pretty great take on modernised HoMM-styled strategy and it has a Very Positive rating from players on Steam.
Explaining why they changed the name they said:
To address the elephant in the room first though, your eyes are not misleading you – after carefully considering this step for months, we decided to change the name of the game from Silence of the Siren to the long-term working title, Heroes of Science and Fiction. You’re no doubt curious why, so here are the main reasons:
- It was really easy to mix up the name with other games in the genre, and we saw too many cases of for example Youtubers struggling to remember the name.
- The new name should make it much more obvious to HoMM fans that this game is in the same genre as the beloved classic, which is really important when players see it on any list on Steam and decide whether to have a closer look.
The new update includes a full Map Editor, Steam Workshop integration and quite a lot of new content. There’s a whole new planet with a 6-phase day-night cycle, 7 new maps, new neutral units, a Beta version of a map generator and various smaller changes.
A new mini trailer was released to highlight the features in the update:
