Sirene Boss Guide in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The story of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 can be as long as 50 hours or as short as 20; it’s all dependent on how much extra content you decide to partake in. In addition to the main story, you will run into some of the more interesting boss fights, having some of the most cinematic and engaging mechanics. Sirene is no different. This is one of the two main Axions you can face, and arguably is the most powerful among the two.
She has the ability to manipulate your mind, and more importantly, charm those with a single actions, turning allies into foes. Her boss fight in Expedition 33 is an important one, and one of the more challenging ones you will be forced to engage with.

Sirene Moveset
Attack |
Description |
---|---|
Sirene dances with Glissandos. |
This is a pretty straight-forward two-hit attack on the party with the second strike being deceptively fast. |
A widow Baller Charms [Character] and flies away. |
One of Sirene’s minions will join the fight and perform a strike that will charm the target if hit. This can be daunting to counter at first, but it’s easy being the rhythm focuses on three sound effects, with the final hit being when you parry. |
Sirene attacks with her dress. |
Sirene will attack with her weaves, hitting three times on random characters. The timing can be challenging because it starts slowly but speeds up right before it hits the character. |
Sirene’s dance becomes frantic. |
This is a charge attack. During her next turn she will unleash an attack. |
The Grand Ballet begins. |
Probably the hardest-hitting five-part attack. It heavily relies on your depth perception as the widows will attack from right to left with the timing being as soon as they get to the far right and begin to perform their swiping attack. |
Sirene’s Glissandos cause the ground to shake. |
The two Glissandos will appear and perform three slow jump attacks, allowing you to execute immense punishment. |
Strategy
This fight has been touted as the hardest of the two Axions, and rightfully so as numerous Expeditions have gotten close to her, but never to the degree of Expedition 33. This is because even looking at her, you run the risk of being charmed, ultimately attacking your allies or walking off the edge to your death. The former is more in-line with the fight, though.
On occasion, one of Sirene’s adds will charm a member of your party. This will need to be dispelled immediately, so try to bring the Picto that cleanses debuffs upon healing. They will either attack another party member, or simply attack themselves, usually ending in their death.
The Grand Ballet is probably the attack that will likely give the player the most trouble, as it’s a hard-hitting five-part sweeping attack. As mentioned, you will need to observe the widows as they get as far to the right as possible, and the moment you see any movement towards you, you need to parry or dodge. Thankfully, the rest of Sirene’s arsenal is less threatening, with the Glissandos jump attacks being by far the easiest to parry and punish.
