SlaveDriver Engine for the Sega Saturn classic shooter PowerSlave gets open sourced
Another win for game preservation and open source, with the release of the SlaveDriver Engine for Sega Saturn classic shooter PowerSlave. Originally released in 1996, there were also versions for PlayStation and MS-DOS. NightDive also made a modern port with PowerSlave Exhumed.
The source code is now on GitHub (and the Internet Archive) under the GPL license. It’s only the code, so you need to supply the data from the game to work with it.
Thanks to this anyone can now dive in and see how the game was made, expand it, port it to other systems it and all sorts. Great news for the boomer shooter community and just gaming history.

I wish more developers would do this for their classic games.
