Something for the Weekend – 31/05/25

Next week is set to be just about the busiest week of the year. More than that, with the Switch 2 launch, Summer Games Fest and even some developers and publishers choosing the back end of next week to launch, it’s going to be the busiest 72-hours in video gamedom.
But before we get to that, let’s look back on the week that was.

And we had a pair of hardware reviews that you probably won’t want to wear out of the house…
Elsewhere, Tuffcub got to go hands on with one of the most anticipated games of the year, the not-quite-a-Soulslike, waypoint-hating Hell Is Us. He rather liked it!
Nic had some thoughts about Final Fantasy’s crossover conundrum and why nobody can preorder Magic cards. Thankfully he was able to console himself by checking out the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. And Dom visited Katowice in Poland, which is turning into a global hub for gaming.
And rounding out the week, What We Played featured F1 25, Hypercharge: Unboxed and Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

What have you been playing this week?
- TSBonyman’s sadly run into a progress breaking bug in Oblivion and doesn’t fancy replaying a whole chunk of the game to rectify it. So he’s hopped into the Skyrim and Elden Ring inspired Tainted Grail… which is also quite buggy, but does at least have active devs working on it.
That’s the round up for this week. Hope you have a great weekend ahead and we’ll see you back here next week!
