Space Marine 2’s Siege Mode “Isn’t Directly Linked” to the Campaign, per Saber CCO

Saber Interactive finally unveiled gameplay of Siege Mode, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s highly-awaited take on Horde Mode. The basic premise of tackling waves of escalating difficulty is intact but how does it tie into the campaign?
As it turns out, it doesn’t. Chief creative officer Tim Willits told IGN that it occurs on Kadaku, the first planet visit, but “isn’t directly linked to it in the same way some Operations are” and doesn’t “directly influence the campaign.”
And though it’s not technically a new area of the area, players will explore more of the imperial fortress. “Titus and his squad go through this imperial fortress during the first mission to reactivate an antenna and allow an orbital cannon to fire on the Tyranid Hive Ship above. Our role in Siege Mode is to defend this fortress, but we do get to visit more of it,” said Willits.
Best of all, players can bring their existing characters and unlocked gear into Siege Mode. If you didn’t hit level 25 on a character, progression is similar to that of Operations.
Siege Mode goes live on June 26th but a public test server will be available on June 4th for PC players via Steam. Stay tuned for detailed patch notes next week.
